Course Description

Technology is an integral part of all of our daily lives. Today’s students have always had technology in their lives, but just because they are digital natives does not mean that they understand how to use technology appropriately. Likewise, teachers use technology regularly but they may not be using it effectively. The goal of this course is to provide classroom educators like you with the knowledge, understanding, and methodologies needed to use technology in a safe and responsible manner, and to help students to do the same. This course will help you:

  • Understand appropriate and inappropriate uses of technology today.
  • Identify and assess your and your students’ usage of technology.
  • Facilitate productive conversations about digital citizenship with students.
