Course Description

Teachers recognize that their students’ success in school and beyond requires more than mastery of required curricula. Emotions, confidence, focus, and other behaviors have huge impacts on their ability to make responsible decisions, maintain positive relationships, and live well-rounded lives.The goal of this course is to provide classroom educators like you with the knowledge, understanding, and methodologies needed to implement social and emotional learning (SEL) practices in your classroom to help your students achieve successful outcomes in their social, emotional, and academic lives. This course will help you:

  • Strengthen students’ self-confidence and focus.
  • Develop tools to help students cope with stress.
  • Use effective interventions to manage behavior.
  • Cultivate emotional intelligence.
  • Create safer and more caring classroom environments.

Credit Approval Information

While you should always follow any pre-approval requirements in your district, we help educators across the country earn advancement on their district’s salary scale and meet their relicensing needs. This course has been pre-approved by the Texas Education Agency, and graduate-level credit is offered through Colorado State University – Pueblo.
