Course Description

Once considered a secondary or “soft” skill by employers in most professions, empathy is today professionally regarded as an essential ingredient for collaboration and leadership success. Yet, it is estimated that American teens are 40% less empathetic than they were decades ago. Educators that believe part of their role is to help students develop healthy relationships in school and beyond might have to look past the curriculum. The goal of this course is to provide classroom educators like you with the knowledge, understanding, and methodologies needed to help students develop empathy and kindness towards themselves and others. This course will help you:

  • Help students develop strong value systems.
  • Foster student self-regulation and emotional intelligence.
  • Encourage collaboration, tolerance, and kindness.
  • Grow changemakers.
