University Credit Options

Credit courses are offered through our regionally accredited university partners. Choose from among the following options when selecting your course:

Brandman University Credit Option

Courses taken through Brandman University provide students the opportunity to earn graduate level professional development credit through Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. Brandman University is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission. www.brandman.edu/exed.

Upon successful completion of courses, the participant will receive graduate-level professional development credit. These credits are not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement such as salary increment steps and recertification. Students should seek approval of appropriate district or college officials before enrolling in these courses to satisfy any degree, state credential, or local school district requirements. This credit may be applied toward a degree program at the discretion of the accepting institution.

Colorado State University-Pueblo Credit Option

Courses taken through Colorado State University-Pueblo provide students the opportunity to earn graduate credit through CSU-Pueblo/Colorado State University-Pueblo. Colorado State University-Pueblo is a public institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Students must register online with CSU-Pueblo within the term that they begin the course in order to receive continuing education graduate credit from CSU-Pueblo. Students can register here: https://secure.csupueblo.edu/extendedstudies/teacher-education-program.asp. Please allow 5-7 business days after you fill out the online registration form before receiving your PID# and information about logging on to your student account to view your transcripts.Once your grade is submitted to CSU-Pueblo, please allow 2-3 business days for it to be processed and available on your transcript. Once students are ready to order transcripts, they can do so directly through their Student Account (PAWS). Paper and Electronic Official Transcripts are available for order. $10 for electronic, $12 for paper. Electronic are available in approximately 48 hours, for paper copies please allow 7-10 business days for arrival. CPE Credit option

Texas teachers can now earn their CPE hours with our online workshops.

Texas Education Agency Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credit Option

EDPOWER is a registered and approved Continuing Education Provider in Texas. One clock hour equals one CPE hour. So, for a 45 hour course you will receive 45 CPE hours. You will also receive our continuing professional educational provider number (CPE#) along with your certificate of completion after you finish your course(s).

LAUSD Salary Point Option

Los Angeles Unified School District teachers can now earn Salary Points with our online workshops.

Los Angeles School District Salary Point Option

EDPOWER’s Teacher Mastery Workshop is an approved Los Angeles Unified School District Salary Point Course. LAUSD can earn 1 Salary Point for completing the course. You will also receive our Salary Point course number along with your certificate of completion after you finish your course.

How do I know if my school, district, and/or state accepts your workshops?

EDPOWER serves new, big-hearted, superhero teachers in ALL 50 STATES through our partnerships with universities, states, districts, and schools. Please check with your school to make certain these credit options fulfill your school’s requirements.

What is the difference between credit and non-credit courses?

Credit courses are offered through our regionally accredited university partners. After successful completing the course, you will receive a letter grade and will be able to request and order a transcript directly from the partner institution. Please note that each semester hour of credit requires 15 hours of coursework.

Non-Credit courses have the same requirements for completion but do not receive a transcript and there is no university affiliation for the Non-Credit courses. After completing the course we will send you ‘Certificate of Completion’ acknowledging that you’ve successful completed the 45 hour professional development course.

We recommend you review the types of credits, number of credits or courses allowed, and the semester dates per partner institution to determine which is best for your needs.

Are these semester hours, quarter hours, or CEUs?

Each workshop is offered for semester and professional development hours.

Brandman University

Brandman University was established by Chapman University – a private institution in Orange, California founded in 1861 which consistently ranks among the country’s top universities. Since 1958, Brandman has been a separate university and serves a large and diverse student population. Brandman has been ranking a Best Online Program by U.S. News for 6 consecutive years.

The Brandman University School of Extended Education collaborates with EDPOWER reviewing materials and endorsing appropriate courses that will deliver high quality graduate-level professional development credit for teachers.

Brandman University is accredited by the WSCUC Senior College and University Commission. Its School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and it’s Credential and Authorization programs are accredited by California Commision on Teacher Credentialing.

Colorado State University-Pueblo

Founded in 1933 as Southern Colorado Junior College, the campus has adapted its name and academic programs to meet the needs of a changing student demographic. It became Colorado State University-Pueblo in July of 2003 to more closely align the institution with its governing body, the Colorado State University System.

With an enrollment of nearly 4,500 students, Colorado State University-Pueblo is a fully accredited, regional comprehensive state university that provides social, educational, and cultural opportunities to its constituents.

Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Graduate Studies in Teacher Education program provides a broad array of post-baccalaureate education programs with a strong professional focus and firm grounding in the liberal arts and sciences. CSU-Pueblo collaborates with EDPOWER reviewing materials and endorsing appropriate courses that will deliver high quality graduate credit activity-oriented professional development experiences for educators.
